László Moholy-Nagy 'Licht-Raum-Modulator'
Its interesting that both Lane and John McLaughlin before him, who play these crazy alternate picking patterns have a lot of indian influence to their rhythmic pattern choices.
Got the man's name wrong. Chhh. Pffff.
Absolutely love Shawn on this Les Paul type guitar through the Soldano! A much richer sound for him in tonality… Sublime!!!🙏🏻🎶✌🏻🌍
This goes to 11
This is what happens when you practice/play more than Al DiMmeola and. JOHHN McLaughlin
nice trio.... original little touches....
One in a trillion!
Whats up with the bassplayer? He's a very profecient player but he doesn't seem interested in laying down a simple groove that's in time.
R.I.P Félix Sabal-Lecco an amazing musician, entertainer, and educator
Sad news.
Shawn had the answer to the question how to sound monotonous by playing thousands of notes. I know that his fans are not only biased .. but simply uninitiated.. and that's fine.. but their constant need to seek approval by e.g. comparing him to a TRULY great player like Holdsworth.. is just silly and missing the mark with a distance of lightyears.
R.I.P. Felix Sabal Lecco
tragic news rip
Too bad, rip, i did work with him in the 80s in france before he moved to an upper level, a really funny and kind man.
Sad news indeed, he was not only a phenomenal musician but had also an incredible personal story, about music as a passion.
Beautiful!
ray comfort on the ads. nice video. admire the bravery
Thank you
I had the privilege of seeing Shawn (and meeting him) three times back in the early/mid 1990s. All three times with Hellborg on bass, and Jeff Sipe and Coffey Baker on drums. Talk about a super group!
ive been looking all over, whats the last song they play starting around 18:13
It's called 'Theme of 'the thin red line', improvisation' (H. Zimmer)
@MrRitzema thank you. It's hard to make out but I can hear it. I initially thought it was loosely based on the melody from 'Dancing in the Moonlight' by King Harvest.
@@MrRitzema I found it the other day, it's called 'Maria' from his album The Tri-Tone Fascination.
It's Maria from his second studio album
erg leuk, dank aan Roel Ritzema. v ooiye
Feuerwerk der Inspiration.
Anyone have an idea what effect pedal he was using to get the loop/ backwards effect?
Geniuses all!
Lane is untouchable.
Wow. That's a lot of notes.
yay
What a tragedy...losing Shawn Lane. I am glad we now have Matteo Mancuso, Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe and Max Ostro.
Impresionante power trio,no los conocia pero me dejaron asombrada por su gran talento, gracias por compartirlo, saludos
So Fucking Inspiring Dude You Kill It Everytime....
This was probably the best INTRO to Performance Ever
This is epic. I saw Shaun in Atlanta back in 2003 maybe. Dude was off the chain. Was so happy to experience that Musical epiphany.
O baixista é Português, vive na Alemanha desde os 20 e poucos anos, e um grande talento. Por sinal é meu familiar!
nice😛
Thanks!
Thanks!
Watermelon In Easter Hay.. Tears..
Zuckerberg on keyboard ? Thanks for this. Shawn Lane is a phenomenon. And he was jn the Netherlands, so to see. Nice.
Ha, ha. It's Joris Weimar.
Proper Drum Solo. Big Props. Luv and Peace.
Wrong drummer for that gig. There only needs to be one vocal mic when Shawn's making music. Jonas fits well. Jeff Sipe (Apt.) is incredible.
One of the few videos of Lane's performances with decent quality. Mankind sadly failed to perpetuate most of them
Thank you!
For anyone wondering, he had a rare disease for which the medication makes u fatter and fatter. It's sad really. Such crazy potential
Wow…………….incredible.
Thank God he got a working cable for that last piece!

Noodle fest
Never understood why such the gifted musicians are always so underrated... Life is not fair.
What was Shawn's rating? I'll never understand "underrated". "Underrated" according to whom or what? Lane was a monster. The music world knew it then and now.
@@bayesian2007 Pretty sure he is referring to the average person not knowing his name when they should. People only know shitty pop musicians because they are rammed down your throat every day.
What a perfect vantage point, i`ll bet it took you ages to find that. Filming behind a curtain then traffic signs and then a tree.
Brilliant show. I think Felix Sabal-Lecco is my new favourite drummer.
Yeah…pure awesomeness. To play like that so freely…it’s genius level on all three instruments.
So much talent on that stage!
I so wish Shawn was around today to show us even more of his godlike skill, nobody can get close to this guy, not even Eddie Van Halen could keep up with this guy, not even Yngwie.
It's not a contest.
I didn't know Shawn Lane was that good at alternate-picking. I thought he was strictly a legato player like Holdsworth. Too bad he didn't do an acoustic project, like the McLaughlin, Paco, Di Meola thing. That would have made his legacy even more awesome.
Check out zen house by Jonas hellborg it’s an hls album it’s all acoustic
Best of the best 4:06
The way he said there was a mistake in the announcements hahahahahaha
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. The scope and scale of the music, the amount of mind blowing improvisation, and the fact that Shawn pulled this off on a last minute borrowed Epiphone LP with a bad cable. Yikes!! I am not worthy.
